Notice how added detail and different
values also create a distance between this part of the Temple and the
South Rim.
You’ll notice that I started this
painting with relatively warm colors. It’s one of the three rules in
painting, cold over warm; so, cooler colors can only be applied over
warmer colors, never the other way around. Secondly, thick over thin.
Start to apply paint sparingly at first, add thicker paint later. The
third rule is dark over light. I took the liberty to add a fourth
rule…the KISS principle…Keep It Simple Stupid! |
